Where unstructured play meets outdoor adventure education. This is a modified after-school program day to meet the needs of an early dismissal time for school conferences. Where: Baxter, Portland Time: 11:10AM-4:00PM Best For: K-3rd graders Maximum Group Size: 10 Pickup: Longfellow Elementary Join Lucia & Molly for a combination of exploring the woods and ponds, outdoor education, games and unstructured self-directed play time. Our goal is to give kids a safe and fun space to release some energy after school and be with friends old and new! Warm drinks provided. Pickup is at 4PM. All MOK programming utilizes public parks, trail systems and green spaces to help connect children and their families to accessible outdoor spaces. We feel that this approach allows both staff and families involved to learn about and appreciate outdoor recreation opportunities right here in Southern Maine. For After-School Programs, instructors pick up groups at school and walk as a a group to basecamp. We see this as a time for kids to decompress from the day, catch up with friends and to reset before a fun afternoon outside! The nature of 100% outdoor programs is that some circumstances are out of our control. While we do our best to plan diligently and prepare you with a list of appropriate gear, we make real-time decisions based on weather reports and risk assessment. In the event of severe weather, this program may be modified or moved inside. In the event that school is cancelled because of snow or weather, we will shift this pop-up to the new conference day.
